Dean Alp Atakan of the School of Economics and Finance, Queen Mary University of London Visits the School of Economics

On September 20, a delegation led by Alp Atakan, Dean of the School of Economics and Finance at Queen Mary University of London, visited the School of Economics. Lin Ping, Dean of the School of Economics, Sun Shuqin, Vice Dean, and Chang Dongfeng, Assistant Dean and Director of the Department of Finance, participated in the seminar.

Lin Ping extended a warm welcome to the delegation and sincere congratulations to Alp Atakan on his new appointment as Dean of the School of Economics and Finance. During the seminar, Lin Ping focused on introducing the faculty, scientific research cooperation and discipline development of the School, and fully affirmed the established cooperation foundation between the two parties. Sun Shuqin focused on introducing the undergraduate talent training model and innovative characteristic practices of the School. Subsequently, the two parties conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on excellent undergraduate master's joint training, doctoral student visits, teacher academic exchanges, non-degree education and other fields, and reached basic cooperation intentions and future implementation plans for some substantive cooperation projects.

In the promotion session, Dean Alp Atakan introduced the school-running characteristics and advantages of the School of Economics and Finance of Queen Mary University of London in terms of scientific research, teaching, faculty, courses, projects, employment and other aspects. Sujoy Mukerji, Director of Postgraduate Programs, focused on introducing the master's programs offered by the School. Ms. Clare Burke, Director of the University's International Cooperation Office, mainly explained the project application conditions, procedures, visa processing and other matters. Representatives of senior undergraduates and postgraduates from the School of Economics participated in the promotion activity. In March 2024, the School of Economics of Shandong University and the School of Economics and Finance of Queen Mary University of London officially signed the 4+1 undergraduate and 1+1/2+1 master's joint training agreements. Students from the School of Economics applying for master's programs of the other party can enjoy the special application channel and partial tuition fee reduction provided by the other party.
