Title: A Fundamental Application of General Revealed Preference Theory

Speaker: Tang Rui, Assistant Professor of the Department of Economics, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology; Doctor of Economics from Princeton University. His research directions include decision theory and microeconomic theory, and his academic achievements have been published in top international economics journals such as Review of Economic Studies, Journal of Economic Theory and Games and Economic Behavior.

Abstract: We provide a general theory of revealed preference for incomplete observations of choices made by decision makers. We demonstrate how to apply the theory to conduct empirical testing efficiently. Our results generalize the Afriat’s theorem and its extensions.
