On October 28, Shandong University's 2025 Global Friendly Universities Exchange Week officially kicked off at the Central Campus.

During the event, the School of Economics actively integrated into the global friendly university "circle of friends" and held counterpart exchange seminars with overseas universities including the University of Chicago (USA), University of California, Davis (USA), National Research University Higher School of Economics (Russia), University of Leeds (UK), Queen's University, Canada, and Zagreb School of Economics and Management. Consensus was reached on multiple areas such as student exchange and study visits, dual-degree joint training, international scientific research, and the organization of summer schools. Zhu Zichuan, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, Shi Shaobin, Executive Vice Dean, and Sun Shuqin, Vice Dean, attended the seminars. They introduced the latest achievements of the School in discipline construction, talent training, and international cooperation to international partners, and sincerely invited teachers and students from overseas institutions to carry out academic exchanges and on-site scientific research internships at the School.

Taking this exchange seminar as an opportunity, the School will continue to promote high-level opening-up in education, adhere to the innovative and open work philosophy, make full use of the high-quality educational resources and scholar advantages of overseas universities and scientific research institutions, refine the cooperation list, and actively build a platform for exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and foreign teachers and students, injecting new vitality into building a high-level open economic discipline of the School.
