Entry Requirement
For academic courses, students must meet the following requirements:
1.GPA: 70/100, 2.3/4.0
2.Year of Study
For undergraduate students, applicants should have completed the equivalent of at least one year of full-time study in the program in which they are enrolled at their home university.
3.Applicants must be enrolled as regular students in a partner university and not have graduated from their home universities before completing the mobility period at SDU.
4.Language proficiency
No proof of English proficiency is required, but students are strongly recommended to reach TOEFL iBT 80/IELTS 6.

Application Period
Exchange students should apply through the SDU online application system.

1.Create an account: click “Register” to register with your email and nationality.
2.Activate the account.
3.Log into the application system. Select “Exchange Students,” and you will see a list of programs.Based on your intended study duration and instruction language, choose the one that suits you most, and then start the application.
Notes:
All the exchange programs in the application system are listed under the College of International Education. The Admission Office will forward the applicants' materials to a relevant school/college according to the information in the nomination form, transcript, and study plan for further approval.
4.Fill in the application form.
5.Upload the following documents:
Passport-sized photo
Information page of your passport (including photo, name, date of birth, place of birth, county of citizenship)
Official up-to-date transcripts in English/Chinese issued by your home university
Nomination letter from the International Office in English/Chinese
Personal Statement including study plan in English/Chinese
Physical Examination Record for Foreigner
Proof of language proficiency (if applicable)

ACCOMMODATION
We strongly encourage students to live on campus. However, if students do wish to stay off-campus, they can rent a room with the consent of the host school/college.
COST
Tuition Fee
The tuition fee of Shandong University will be waived for exchange students conforming with the exchange agreements. Students shall pay tuition fees to their home university.
Accommodation
1,200 – 1,500 RMB per month
Living Cost
1,000 – 2,000 RMB per month, depending on individual lifestyle
VISA & RESIDENCE PERMIT
Admitted students must apply for a study visa at the Chinese Embassy/Consulate in their countries of residence with the Admission Notice and JW201/JW202/DQ Form.
International students who will study in China for less than 6 months should apply for the X2 Visa.
International students who will study in China for more than 6 months are required to obtain the X1 visa.
To stay in China legally, it is mandatory for X1 holders to apply for the Residence Permit within 30 days of arrival in China.
MEDICAL INSURANCE
According to the regulations of the Chinese Ministry of Education, international students coming to China must purchase medical insurance in Chinese mainland.
The medical insurance fee is 400 RMB/semester/person.
Students who have not purchased medical insurance will not be registered. Please log in to http://www.lxbx.net for insurance content and claims procedures.
