Title: Publishing qualitative research in leading Anglophone management journals: the ‘nuts and bolts’
Speaker: Mehdi Boussebaa, Ph.D. (University of Warwick), Professor of International Management, University of Glasgow, UK. As a qualitative researcher, his research explores the politics of corporate globalization and the production of management knowledge, covering multiple fields of management research as well as postcolonial thought and international political economy. His research results have been published in top journals such as "Human Relations", "Journal of International Business Studies", "Journal of World Business" and "Organization Studies". Professor Boussebaa is the Co-Editor of "Critical Perspectives on International Business" and serves on the Editorial Board of a number of top management journals.
Abstract: In this practical session, Professor Mehdi Boussebaa will guide participants to understand the basic steps of conducting and publishing qualitative research (QR) in leading Anglophone management journals. The lecture will focus on the core elements of successful publication, provide practical suggestions for effectively presenting qualitative research, and emphasize building a strong methodological narrative, demonstrating credibility, and elaborating on meaningful theoretical contributions. Professor Boussebaa will also discuss common pitfalls such as overgeneralization and universalization of particularism.
