Title: The "Theater Effect" of Cross-Border Investment and Mergers & Acquisitions by Digital Platforms

Speaker: Zhong Zhou, Assistant Researcher of the Institute of Quantitative Economics and Technical Economics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. His research directions cover fields such as antitrust, intellectual property rights, industrial organization and competition policy. His research results have been published in journals such as Economic Research Journal, Management World, China Industrial Economics and Journal of Renmin University of China. He won the Top Ten Excellent Papers Award of China Youth Competition Law in 2015 and 2016. He has presided over or participated in research projects of the State Council, the National Development and Reform Commission, the State Administration for Market Regulation and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology for many times, and has provided expert reports for a number of major antitrust and intellectual property cases. From 2016 to 2017, he was seconded to the Price Supervision and Antitrust Bureau of the National Development and Reform Commission. In 2019, he was selected into the Antitrust Expert Database of the State Administration for Market Regulation. Dr. Zhong Zhou has engaged in postdoctoral research in management at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He obtained a doctoral degree and a master's degree in economics from Renmin University of China, and a double bachelor's degree in science and economics from Xiamen University.
