Title: Ren-Based Ethics and a Model of Pro-Social Behavior

Speaker: Yu Ning, Professor, Institute for Social and Economic Research, Nanjing Audit University; National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars winner. Ph.D.s from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Stanford University.

Abstract: This talk builds a game-theoretical model linking Confucian concepts of Ren, De, and Yi, showing that benevolence (Ren) promotes altruism (De) and social welfare (Yi). It formalizes how pro-social motives enhance cooperation in classical games.
