Title: The New Pattern of International Strategic Competition and the National Food Security Strategy

Speaker: Cheng Guoqiang, currently Wuyuzhang Chair Professor, Member of the University Academic Committee, Director of the Academic Committee of the School of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development, Dean of the National Institute of Food Security Strategy, Doctoral Supervisor, Recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, National High-Level Talent, and Expert Enjoying Special Government Allowances of the State Council at Renmin University of China. He also serves as a member of expert committees of central ministries and commissions in fields such as food security, rural revitalization, and high-quality trade development. He once served as Secretary-General of the Academic Committee and Director of the International Bureau of the Development Research Center of the State Council. He has published more than 250 papers in important domestic and foreign journals such as Economic Research Journal and Management World, as well as in important newspapers such as People's Daily; he has published 8 academic monographs (solely authored), more than 140 policy research reports, and received more than 90 instructions from State Council leaders. He has presided over many projects including major projects of the National Social Science Fund and key projects of the National Natural Science Fund. His research achievements have won many awards such as the Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, the First Prize of the Outstanding Achievements in Scientific Research in Institutions of Higher Education (Humanities and Social Sciences), and the Second Prize of the Provincial and Ministerial Science and Technology Progress Award.
